No — and that's exactly the point. The Ice Bucket is an integrated system. The hat and insert are engineered together: the interior of the hat is precision-fitted with a channel designed specifically for the insert. This means the insert sits flush against your head, stays locked in place through your swing, and delivers consistent cooling contact — not the loose, shifting fit you get from generic cooling pads dropped into a regular hat.

Most cooling products on the market are one-size-fits-all afterthoughts — stiff pads or towels that sit awkwardly, slide around, and require water activation. The Minus One system is purpose-built: the insert is ultra-thin and pliable, molded to the contour of the hat's interior so it conforms to your head naturally. The hat itself is lightweight and moisture-wicking, engineered to work with the insert — not in spite of it. The result is a system that feels like a premium hat, not a workaround.

No. The insert uses a sealed gel bead design — no water activation required, no dripping, no condensation soaking through your hat. The breathable liner on the insert works in concert with the hat's moisture-wicking fabric to keep your head cool and dry simultaneously. You'll feel the cold. You won't feel anything else.

Each insert stays cold for approximately 45–60 minutes depending on ambient temperature. The hat comes with two inserts — enough for a full 18-hole round rotating every 4–5 holes from your cart cooler. Add the 2-pack for extra-fresh rotation if you prefer swapping more frequently.

That was our primary design challenge — and what sets us apart. The insert is engineered to be thin enough that you won't notice the bulk, pliable enough to move with your head naturally, and precisely fitted so there's zero slippage mid-swing. Most golfers report forgetting the insert is there at all — until they feel how cool they still are on hole 15.
